The Santa Maria Manuela is a historic Portuguese four-masted gaff schooner, launched in 1937 and originally part of the Portuguese White Fleet used for cod fishing in the North Atlantic. Built by Companhia União Fabril (CUF) in Lisbon, the ship measures approximately 68 meters in length and 9.9 meters in beam. After significant refurbishment between 2007 and 2010, the ship was transformed into a sail training vessel and now offers educational and recreational sailing programs. The Santa Maria Manuela serves as a symbol of Portugal’s maritime heritage, frequently participating in tall ship events and maritime festivals globally.
